You can say what you want about President Obama, you can criticize his policies or disagree with his views. There are certainly things he’s done that I’ve disagreed with. But to me one of the most inspiring things about Obama is his willingness to show emotion.

Today when Obama announced his new gun control measures he cried, moved by the great loss of life due to senseless violence. And his show of emotion reminded me that truly great leaders don’t just lead with their heads. They also lead with their hearts.

And it lead me to ask this simple question: What would be possible if we led with our hearts a little more, wore it on our sleeves a little more, and let the strength of our vulnerability show through in everything we do?

What extraordinary change could we create in the world and in ourselves?
